A generic multiplier is easy to build, but it does not explain the import. Two products with the same factory value can have different tariff classifications, duty structures, compliance requirements and freight profiles. ## Step 1: identify the product and HS/CTH The tariff classification is the starting point for checking the applicable import duty and policy information. ## Step 2: show the duty components clearly Where applicable, the estimate should display the relevant duty components rather than hiding them inside one percentage. The official ICEGATE duty tools are also structured around tariff-based duty calculation. ## Step 3: add the actual logistics assumptions Freight should reflect the shipment method and cargo data, not an unrelated flat multiplier.
