LCL, FCL or Air? Choosing the Right Shipping Method From China

There is no single best freight method

The right answer depends on the cargo. Volume, gross weight, urgency, product value, packing and destination all matter. ## When LCL can make sense LCL can suit commercial orders that do not justify a full container. It also works well when several supplier orders are consolidated into one shipment. ## When FCL can make sense As volume increases, a full container may give better control over the shipment and can become commercially more sensible than paying LCL charges across a large volume. ## When air freight can make sense Air is normally chosen when time matters, the shipment is smaller, the goods are higher value relative to weight, or the client needs stock quickly. ## Do not choose only from the headline freight rate Compare the complete route: pickup, warehouse, export, freight, destination charges, clearance coordination and final delivery.
